When you have friends who are facing cancer and hear something like this, it will give you pause. I wish I had some of the wisdom of John Challis.

Rest In Peace, Bro.

Down time

Please forgive me not posting but it's been draining enough to get through 13 days of work with a day off.  Just settling into the Coldplay gig at the Forum was kind of an ordeal.  I'm just agitated and think less time in front of my pc is good for me, it just reminds me of work, irrespective of LJ of course.  I did have a good cry today while driving and trying to remember being in Colorado and the life that had been part of my life just a week ago.  Soon I'll have my camera back and when work settles down, I'll have adequate time to post, it's been frustrating to say the least.

Be sure to d'l it before copyright infringement sets in.

Bruce in Anaheim

Best sound ever from the third tier, it blew our ever loving heads off.  Bruce stepped out of the eves to say goodnight while the hall was three quarters empty.  I got to shake Bruce and Tom Morello's hand.  Or what was left of Tom's hand after he channeled Jimi during The Ghost of Tom Joad.  BTEC (Bruce and Tom Electric Co. indeed)  We missed seeing Patty on stage during the gig, and hoped she's ok.  We had a rather long intro to Girls in Their Summer Clothes that had me wired up because the Boss was telling us about a Southern Calif. (repeats 3x) woman, and one from Jersey and that dovetails well into Rosalita which would have been amazing even if it was half as good.  It almost made me forget about Nils and his geetar hero solo during Because The Night but I'm partial to the fact of Rosalita mentions San Diego way which we're partial too...and Clarence Clemons dropped a lyric in on us, he looked much more able bodied than last fall but still needed help up the stairs for the first encore from the Boss himself.

I told Eilis that Bruce acts this way every night!!  When I'm 58 I want to be as young as the Boss.

We wish we could make another business trip tonight but I'm still collecting myself.

I'm so exhausted, and I'm looking forward to getting to Petsmart to see Simone in her ele-mental!!

I think I'll be persuaded to work for the fur frenzy.  We really wanted to go and see Exit Division at Molly Malones but I'm getting on with my age, even with training for the marathon.

I get to get up late tomorrow...anything after oh 6AM would be insanely late.  And don't call me insane...

I adore Dave Grohl, the perfect personification of me on stage.  I think he's taller than I am and he could care less how graceful he looks.  I can't decide between Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil (OILS!) and Dave whom I prefer more.  Simone and I were at the Forum, old school, and the acoustics this time were better than ever, the jumbotron scoreboard that was in the middle is now gone and there is no dead air in the immediate vicinity.  At one time, during the So tour of Peter Gabriel, I stood twenty rows from the stage in a virtual sound vacuum and last night even five rows from the roof it was as if I was sitting on top of a Marshall amp.  We had sort of a drawback in the fact that our particular row was illuminated for the Forum sign but at least the row directly in front of us was vacated and there was ample space to stand and dance.  The performance and sound were good enough to not deter from having a headlight on me.  I enjoyed having a alternate stage in the middle of the floor that was directly below Simone and I where the entire band congregated for a acoustic set, it featured My Hero and the crowd was full throat, and as a special we had the triangle solo aptly delivered by Nate.  It's a triangle folks, you'll never ever hear this in a month of Sundays.  As far as duets all told are: U2 & Dylan, Tracey Chapman at Peter Gabriel, Eric Clapton and The Stones, et al...nothing could hold a candle to Lenny from Motorhead joining the Foos for Shake Your Blood...I've now lived a full life.

Thad, we loved Serg, his theatrics remind me of Moulin Rouge, he should have been cast for that.

“Hey everybody, we're coming up to mile 13. What's our time hon? 13 and 30 minute mile so about 2 16 and I'm doing great but this is about the third time we head for the, to the half but we're not well in the half way though but it's 13.1. 5th of a mile in and about 2 minutes. So it's all down hill. We can't wait to get done. It's so hot. We're just gonna burn calories and not worry about the time. Just have a great time. Hope you're all doing well. You lazy couch potatoes you. Well, we'll talk to you soon. Love you all. Bye.”

Woman In Media

Geena Davis is speaking out on it, and since there is precedences in place past and present with Woman running for or elected into office in the United States and Ireland respectively not to mention Benazir Bhutto who posthumously remains a voice for change.  So much of sensationalist banter has been about maligning woman I think it's about time men look to the change that would occur if woman decided the next election in the US, btw women will make this occur and who will benefit from that change worldwide.  I also think my wife Simone aka [info]simu2fan  would be a voice for change in the media since she works for a major metro and could blog about this  for a good long while.  It's not my intention to take men out of the equation but to dream up something that speaks of unleashing the true power that comes with autonomous freedom instead of watching the wheels come off with mere tabloid sensationalism.

To approximate the U2 insanity last night we stayed up late to get only four hours sleep and then went walking briskly for 8 miles and change.  Proceeded to my mother and fathers house to lounge and play with Shiloh the cat.  We drank coffee all day and had copious  amounts of water which caused the excitement level to rise to a fevered pitch, all that was missing at IMAX was a depends (TMI)  because well you never know. [info]mpgoddess called before we left for our gig and was filled with utter bliss and we just blathered on for a while.  We got to the theater and I had another starbucks which was not really necessary. Spoilers )

Merry Christmas from Simone and yours truly.

It's the marriage of holiday song and attention deficit disorder and I apologize for the song that won't leave the collective head of my flist.

I'm really enjoying the X-Mas Theme in firefox the app simulates falling snow, not that it snows here in SoCal.  But nevertheless Simone and I will be freezing our behinds off this morning on slightly more than three hours sleep!!  W00t...

I'm more than happy to pay MTA $60 for my monthly bus pass, Simone is lucky bc she has a work discount, and I doubt I'll be giving any more money to ride the toll roads that would be in effect by 2009.  The current proposal for that toll is $9 one way every day.  The Lexus' that ride there would expect that there should be no traffic whatsoever and for that amount there should be none, fwiw.  The 405 is ineligible because we all know the truth is evident about the parking lot status during rush hour.  The bureaucracy of all this makes me sick so I won't bore you here.

When I'm mobile...watch the PO-lice and the tax man miss me.

I don't understand why owners and players are complicit with the current baseball steroid news and the Mitchell report.  I watched the quote from George Mitchell over and over again today when he said that he didn't recommend sanctions for any player.  I've never been a Bud Selig fan either bowing to pressure from both ends to clean up the sport, I think by now it's a moot point.  I'm not surprised that Eric Gagne was abusing HGH, when I sat in the stands at Dodger games, it was very evident.  I'm settling into my long standing boredom with the current stories and am glad that I have much more important issues on my plate.  Goodnight MLB.
